Oil Spill Claims – May 28, 2010
Oil spill claims filed by residents of the Gulf Coast have left most people disappointed in their attempts to get British Petroleum to pay their legitimate claims for loss of income. Although BP is accepting and paying some oil spill claims (Coast Guard information on filing claims with BP here), it is paying too little, too late. It’s also failing to give people and businesses information about how much they will be paid, and when they will be paid, in the future. If BP acts the way Exxon did with the Valdez incident, it will be necessary for many Gulf Coast residents and businesses to file lawsuits in order to be treated fairly. [click to continue…]

Oil Spill Suggestions
Here at BP Oil News we’ve gotten almost two thousand suggestions for ways to plug the Gulf oil leak or mitigate the damage from the Gulf oil spill. Here’s a link to some of your oil spill suggestions. And here’s a link to a page with many more oil spill suggestions. Many of the suggestions are contained in comments, but some oil spill suggestions were sent in using our contact form. Because of the volume of suggestions, we would like to request that future suggestions be submitted via comments to this post. And if you have suggestions about how the President should deal with the oil spill, please post your comments under the article “We need a New Deal for the Gulf Coast.”

I am putting my name and idea anywhere I can as I think it is very
viable .I am a field service millwright and suggest crimping the
leaking riser shut until the relief well can be implemented . We can
build a self contained hydraulic open jaw press to press this pipe
shut in a very short period of time ,if the process is started .Please
forward this to whoever will listen and have them contact me to
